Capable in Their Own Hands
We have been friends since our kids were in pre-school—engaged in conversation about what it means to be a parent, what it means to educate (and get an education), and an incredibly cool thing happened this spring: our kids helped us understand what it might mean for them to take their educations into their own hands, in conversation with us. Flook was developed over the course of our stay-at-home spring as a way to structure unstructured hours, but to do so in a way that let chance in under the door && conversations flourish && put a lot of the decision-making about how and what was learned in the hands of our kids. As we have shared the early, hand-printed decks with friends and neighbors and community members, we’ve learned a lot about just what kinds of possibilities this unlocks for discovery and discussion. We hope you’ll join us on this path—one built and led by learners && shared as an unfolding discovery.
